I see a lot of debate about whether this quote foreshadows Arya's death. Personally I believe this quote is hinting at how Arya may continue to lead a life filled with revenge and grief and killing even after the war ends. Arya is very consumed by her desire to avenge her family; her hatred for those who have wronged the people she loved is her only motivation. She may never let go of the "needle locked tight between [her] frozen fingers" because vengeance has become her will to live, and the only way that she knows how to live. Because I am skeptical that GRRM will make a cheerful ending for Arya (assuming he doesn't kill her, that is), I feel like the most realistic ending may be that Arya does achieve some form of revenge, but will not be able to truly find closure in taking the lives of her enemies. Maybe she will just wander the world as an assassin doing justice or something after that....
All that aside, Arya is just such an amazing character and I hope life has better things in store for her. The picture is my interpretation of the quote, with Arya at the end of a battle, having slain her enemies with Needle.
