in shades of white
To shadows
that never swallow
the same light twice
Along the muddy, dappled floor
of a park at home.
I tell the truth
in broken song
To passers-by
of scintillating atoms that
used to be a flame
The smoke perhaps teary
and spirits, afloat.
I tell the truth
in ringlet waves
To canyons
endless, far and wide they echo
calls not my own
because my secrets are safest
with people I don't know.
